College

I have had my 3rd lesson (1 a week) of my CLAit course (computer literacy and information technology) and I have started excel which I am useless at, I thought I would be able to whizz through it and move onto the more interesting stuff, apparently I will be about 5 weeks on this section :(.   I have started to realise why I felt such incredible pressure at work recently my excel knowledge is shocking.  I sit next to a little old lady (you know how I am sucker for a 'nice' old lady) I asked her yesterday how long she has being doing the course, 8 years she politely told me, I just hope my face didn't register my amusement.  But I am still pretty impressed with her she is in a wheelchair about 80 and suffers with MS.

  1. Both my boys did their claits too, both passed the first exam but not the second.

  3. Hello my sweet friend!! I have been catching up with everyones blogs...I am SO behind. Glad to hear everyone is settled & doing well though. Great news about your studies... I had a good chuckle about the old dear having done the course for 8 yrs hehe. Drove past your old house yesterday & missed you guys so much. Wish it was easier to stay in touch, but I am so hopeless though. You are in my thoughts all the time. Hugs xx

  5. Classic!
I hope I will still be learning new things when I'm 80. Like sky diving hehe.

I'm sure you'll crack it before 8 years have past, girlfriend :-)

  6. I have great admiration for you...to learn new computer skills are not easy. I had to teach myself excel...but only know enough to come by. I hope that I will also still be learning new things when I am 80.

  7. I'm with Allie and Lynette...I want to be learning new stuff when I'm 80, too! Maybe not skydiving (too chicken) but a new computer program, that would be fun. Good for her!

And good for you, Clare, for making the effort to get back to school. Excel is more complicated than most people think; it's a powerful tool that can do SO much. I only know the basics, so am envious of you that you'll be figuring it out. Good luck!

Good on you Clare - you have guts.

And when I am 80 I dont want to be learning to skillz, I want to be teaching them. ;-)
